Funny Commercial Video

Finally, our video for Social Media and Digital Communities course has been completed ~ This course required us to create a short video in a team of 3-5 people. Me and my group decided to create a commercial video with funny and entertainment attribute at the end. Following is our group’s video.

For smdc classmates, you can watch it in class, dont watch it now. Or not we will be very cringe at class 😂

This video is created by us and filmed using mobile phone. We used 3 days to film different scene needed and almost a day to edit it. We also put some effort into create and design the logo and products name. Although it is a low cost production, we are trying to make it as high quality as we can. We also tried to make the rate of appearance of all our members equally so that everyone have the chance to act and contribute to this project.

I am quite satisfied with the outcome of the video as some part of it really felt very funny and catchy. It is really fun and happy during the filming and editing phase. As we are using volume with 90 degree in editing the video, some part of the video will become hard to hear. It is better to raise the volume to a suitable degree to hear the sound and be sure to watch till the end for maximum entertainment as we incude many funny point in different section especially the most funniest thing is our slogan.

Finally, thanks to all of my group members: Lim Zheng Kang, Ang Jin Hang and Chen Kai Wei for all of your contributions. I really appreciate you guys for giving full cooperation during filming process, providing ideas, opinions during preparation stage and also help me in boosting the video editing process. Although the video made me felt a bit cringe, it is that cringe that made things funny. XD

Hope whoever watched our video like it and also thanks for your valuable time. Please do leave a like 👍 if you found it interesting to support us ~~

VR (Virtual Reality) Genre Anime and Games

Brief Introduction on VR

Virtual Reality (VR) is a computer program technology used to create a world that can be similar to real world or it can also be fantastical. It will generate an immersive 3D experiences taking place within a simulated environment. The main sensory feedback for now are visual and auditory feedback but it can also allow other sensory feedback (require further research and experiments).

Currently, the VR technology most commonly uses VR headset or some equipment that can be equipped to part of the body. It will then generate realistic sounds, images and other sensations to simulate user’s physical presence in the virtual world. Some VR system include transmission of vibration to a user through controller and it is generally known as force feedback in medical, gaming applications etc.

Virtual Reality Genre Anime : VRMMORPG (Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game)

Sword Art Online (SAO), is a VRMMORPG released in the year 2022. It allows players to control their in-game characters with their minds (transmission of data signals instantly to and from your brain), using a virtual reality helmet called NerveGear. The players’ excitement turns into horror as they soon discover that they cannot log out of the game. They are informed by Kayaba Akihiko, the creator of SAO, that the only way to return to the real world is to reach the 100th floor of the dungeon and defeat the final boss.

If their in-game characters die, they also die in real life.

Log Horizon

The MMORPG, Elder Tale, has been a phenomenal success following its eleventh expansion pack. The game has grown its user base to millions of players. The next expansion pack, however, surprises thirty thousand players as they suddenly find themselves became their in-game avatars. They soon realize that they are inside the game they love. Shiroe, a strategist type gamer who is socially challenged in real life, teams up with other players to take on the challenges in their way and reveal the secrets of the updates.

Overlord

The final hour of the popular virtual reality game Yggdrasil has come. However, Momonga, a powerful wizard and master of the dark guild Ainz Ooal Gown, decides to spend his last few moments in the game as the servers begin to shut down. To his surprise, despite the clock having struck midnight, Momonga is still fully conscious as his character and, moreover, the NPC appear to have developed personalities of their own!

Confronted with this abnormal situation, Momonga commands his loyal servants to help him investigate this new world, with the hopes of figuring out what has caused this development and if there may be others in the same situation as him.

It was held at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in 2018.

A very very long queue

I went to TAGCC 2018 (April) with my secondary school friends. As we made our final decision whether we should go or not in last minute, so we end up buying our ticket on that day and we need to have a long queue (about 2 circles from the pictures above). 30++ minutes later, we finally managed to get our tickets and go inside the hall. There are a lot of figures and toys being displayed all around the exhibition hall.

Besides that, there is also a cute pikachu mascot where you can take pictures with him.

There are also a lot of cosplayers attend this event and you can take selfie with them too. Gamers who love to play card games or mobile games can also join TAGCC as there will be some games booth set up.

There will also have a Augmented Reality (AR) game – Hado that let player wear the VR headset and versus each other (shoot energy ball to attack and activate shield to block – AR dodgeball game)

TAGCC 2019 will be held at Putra World Trade Centre during 22 and 23 June 2019. The ticket price for 2 days are RM40 and RM20 per day. People who are toys collector can go there to have a look !

Comic Fiesta

Comic Fiesta (CF) is a Malaysia’s convention that focuses on everything that is related with ACG (Anime, Comics, Games) culture. CF was founded on 2002 and is traditionally held every year in December. Currently, it is the biggest non-profit ACG event in Malaysia.

Tickets for CF 2018. The ticket price for both CF 2017 and 2018 (held at KLCC) that i attended is RM30 per day and RM60 total. Early bird tickets (2 days) can let you have a 30 minutes earlier entry to the hall.

There will be one entrance to enter the halls and you need to show your ticket (on your hand) to the staff. Although the ticket we bought are early birds ticket, we also need to queue outside as they are not rare (about 10000 sets early bird tickets available for sale).

In CF 2018, there are 60k people attended over the 2 days and this only counted those that bought the tickets. For those who have not buy the tickets, they will stay outside the hall and so, the crowd outside also made people hard to move. As for the inside hall, you will keep stucking and stucking as people will standing there watching merchandise and blocking the way.

There are many sub-genres that are available to experience throughout the events. For example, many vendors will be selling fan merchandise and there are many booths selling different kind of items (electronic devices, accessories, cosplay outfit, books, figurines, stickers, posters, etc).

There will be 3 halls if it is held at KLCC. You can take pictures with cosplayers after taking permission from them. As for some popular cosplayers, they will have their own booth to sell their own limited merchandise. They even have their own signing session where fans can meet and talk to them. However, the numbers of people line-up at there is ridiculous.

Other than that, many youtubers will also attend this event. They will also come with their friends and take some vlog. Some of them will prank the cosplayers and also take photos with their fans. They don’t even need to cosplay and there will be a lot of crowd surround them and request for taking photos.

For those who love to play games, the convention will also include many games-related booth such as Honkai Impact 3rd (very big in 2018), some card games booth (TCG/CCG) and also booth that let you try some new games.

For the last and most exciting place is the main hall that will held main stage activities such as cosplay competition event, popular cosplayer’s sharing session, singer/DJ singing musics, video games finals, award ceremony and also concerts! For CF 2018, they invited a popular Japanese pop rock band “Myth & Roid” for closing of the event. As there are limited space in the main hall, so not all of the visitors are able to join the concert. Although the concert start at 7.30 p.m., the hall already completely full at 6.30 p.m. For me and my friends, we went in after dinner at 6 p.m. and many people already line-up outside the hall as the hall only left some space.

Overall, Comic Fiesta is a must attend event for those who are fans of ACG. Although the convention hall is not big enough to accommodate the increasing number of visitors and also the crowd management is not so good, I did enjoy the events (especially the concerts) and will attend CF 2019 if it is possible!

Aeon Mall Nilai

Yesterday (12 March 2019), me and my friends went to Aeon Mall Nilai for dinner. All of us (3 person) meet at about 6:10 p.m. and reach there at about 6:35 p.m. as we experienced traffic jam during this period. The normal time taken for us to reach Aeon Nilai from XMUM is about 15 minutes. Aeon Mall Nilai is one of the biggest Aeon shopping mall is Malaysia. It is opening in 17th January 2019 and this is the second time I came here. The first time i visited here is with my family and now is with my friends.

When we arrived at Aeon Mall, the first thing we think about is what we should eat. After some walks and discussion, we decide to eat korean food. The restaurant we choose was MyeongDong Toppoki. I ordered a Koream Ramyeon and … (I forget the name XD ). The cost is about RM22 but i do enjoy their food.

There are a lot of arcades centre located at the middle section of the second floor. At here, i watched my friends playing some gacha game.

After that, we shop around inside the shopping mall. Then we found out there is a shop call eCO-SHOP that all products sell inside the shop are RM2.10. After we bought things we need, we continue our shopping until we go in Popular book store and my friend want to buy mouse. While he is thinking whether he want to buy or not, I went to my aunt’s shop (BeautyBay) to chat with my cousin as he is helping his mom before the SPM result release.

We decided to go back at about 9:40 p.m. and it was raining at that time. Overall, I think that Aeon Mall Nilai is a good place for shopping as it is very big and the food court at second floor there provide a lot of food options that are delicious. The only constraint is that Aeon Mall Nilai did not have cinema (TGV/GSC etc.).

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit.

Gacha – Another Type of Gamble

What is Gacha?

The term “gacha” is refer to a variety of capsule toys machine popular in Japan. It is a mechanic that generally refer to a blind box sets. Gacha is then adapted digitally and become one of the most popular systems for f2p (free-to-play) video games. Many games have gacha mechanic implemeted, with banner that randomly generated items of different market values can be acquired through microtransactions. It is a monetosation system that let a company maximize their profits.

Gacha = Gamble ?

We can know that gamble means using moneys or something similar values on an event for an uncertain outcomes. While for gacha, players can obtain numerous in-game characters, cards or items through pull / spin the gacha using a specific amount of in-game currency. Some rare items require players to spin more before they get their desired outcomes and in order to spin more, they have to pay more. The mechanism has come under scrutiny as it is similar to gamble. A lot of makers made the game to get players addicted and hooked on playing them (players want to collect complete set or becoming more powerful). The gacha system made people just can’t stop paying money until they get what they desired. This is why the mechanic is subject to criticism in luring people to spend thousands of money.

FGO summon rate (gacha)

Why People Love Gacha ?

What makes gacha interesting is the element of gamble. You are putting effort and money for a chance to get something great. The most important thing is, “Luck”. Although sometimes people can get their desired things by buying directly, the cost will be a lot higher than simply pull the gacha banner and pray for RNGesus. Nowadays, lawmaker are requiring gacha games to show exactly the percent chance behind their gacha system and made it public. However, the developers can still make changes and this also doesn’t prove that the probabilities showed will be true. So, people who love to play gacha games will keep playing the games and also purchase in-game currency in order to pull gacha thanks to the hook of trying to get lucky. Some people also think that the game is fun, so i should pay them as this is how the developers make money and improve their games. For the in-game currency i purchased, maybe i can get something rare and it will become a win-win solution.

FGO banner

As for me, I love playing gacha games such as Tower of Savior and Honkai Imapact 3 as those games have some nice and beautiful character. For FGO, now i am just login dailies after a whole months of grinding and what i get are trash (the probability is hell). I am enjoying playing them because of their playstyle and also the gacha (gamble) element within them. You will just want to keep grinding the in-game currency and then go to pull the banner to test your luck. When you get it, the happiness you felt is rediculous and you can show off to your friend when they can’t get XD. I also love to watch my friend playing same gacha games with me and pull the banner together. However, if you can’t get it, it just make you want to pull more and think that the next pull will surely get (it ends up become a loop). Thus, people that love to play gacha games should know how to control themselves (when to stop) and also have good planning on which banner they should give up. Lets experience the gacha hell together !

I Pots Shabu Shabu Steamboat (Nilai)

I Pots Shabu Shabu Steamboat Restaurant

On Wednesday (7/3/2019), me and my friends went to a restaurant call I Pots Shabu Shabu Steamboat. I Pots Shabu Shabu is a buffet steamboat restaurant that provide about 1 hour and 30 minutes limit and let you eat all you can until you are satisfied within the time limit. It is located in Nilai and take about 15-20 minutes to reach there from Xiamen University Malaysia. It is also close to INTI International University (about 1km). Following are the information regarding this restaurant.

  • Address: 630, Jalan Melati 23, Taman Desa Melati Fasa 3, 71800 Nilai, Negeri Sembilan
  • Operating hours: 5:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • Contact Number: 06-7999319
  • Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/shabuipots/

Our journey

First of all, how do I know I Pots Shabu Shabu and then decide to have dinner there? Actually, my cousin (roommate) recommended me after they went there. So, I booked a 3 pax seat at 5 p.m. on the next day. We then went to I Pots Shabu Shabu by my car and reached there at 8:17 p.m. After that, we heard some introduction (penalty if wasted food) and know it is RM36/pax for adult. The restaurant will provide 5 options of soup (Herbal, Spicy, TomYam, Bak-Kut-Teh, Signature soup) and let every person choose a type of soup. After choosing the soup and paid, we then start our eating journey. XD

There are a lot of foods you can eat at there. I will categorize it to 3 different sections according to the location the food placed in the restaurant. At the first section (middle section), different kind of vegetables and noodles, meatball, fishball, hotdog, clams (lala), crabmeat and so on can be found at here. At the rear left section, there is a place where you can put your order to order different kind of cooked food such as fried wonton, fried sausage, steamed bread (Mantou) or order fresh meat such as mutton (lamb), beef, pork and many more. There is also a freezer there and there are 5 different flavour of ice-cream inside (chocolate, strawberry, yam, vanilla, peppermint). The rear right section is where you can get your drinks and ice.

We end our lunch at about 10 p.m. as all of us are 101% (very very) full. I then let my friend drove us back using my car because I am a person who will become lazy to do anything when I am full. 😂 Overall, I actually recommend this restaurant as it has nice environment, very friendly staff, reasonable price, good service and fresh food!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit.

Chin Swee Caves Temple

Chin Swee Temple

Chin Swee Caves Temple is a Taoist Temple located in Genting Highlands. There is a nine-storey pagoda, and also many temples at here. There are also many traditional Chinese figurines, carvings and also a statue of Qingshui, a buddhist monk’s giant statue. You can drop by to this place for free whether you go up Genting with the cable car or driving up.

Statue of Qingshui
Carvings on Wall

Besides worshipping the Reverend Chin Swee, there are also statues of Buddha and Kwan-yin, where devotees can pray to. Visitors can also go on a journey of cultural exploration, which will describe the situation from hell (crimes and related punishments) to heaven in the afterlife in accordance to the ancient Chinese traditions and beliefs.

Afterlife Cultural Exploration

P.S. *Some pictures were taken by my friend, ZhengKang as we went there together. 😂

The Three Gods of Fortune, Prosperity and Longevity

The nine-storey pagoda. This is the third time I visited the Chin Swee Temple. Everytime I will climb up to the nine floor of this pagoda as it is very exciting and refreshing up there! The area of each floor will keep decreasing to make it more balance (S=πr², r will keep decrease). So, the staircase to higher floor will also become smaller and it is a bit dangerous if you are not careful enough. At the highest floor, the wind and fog will even make your hair and clothes moist and wet! XD

The time when we visiting Chin Swee Temple is about 11 a.m. and everything is almost covered with fog. When you climb up the pagoda, the air become colder and colder and the outside view also become more blur.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit.

Part-Time Job During Holiday

While you’re on a long break over the holidays, it’s easy to get into a lazy mode where you sit around doing nothing with your days. During the holidays (semester break for students), most of us just relaxing ourselves such as reading, shopping, playing games, gathering with friends, surfing the internet or just do nothing. As for me, it is also almost the same. For this semester break, the first two weeks of the holiday is Chinese New Year, therefore after one weeks of rest (actually just play games, play games and play games XD), I then decided to take part-time jobs for the last week of my holiday before going back to university.

The location of the part-time job i took is in a Cafe located in Sinaran Bookstore and it is inside a shopping mall call Gateway Seremban. The cafe will sell milk tea, green tea, fruit tea, ice-cream and also waffle. My job is actually everything such as opening and closing of the cafe, brewing the green tea, preparing the milk tea, cleaning the floor and desk, washing cups and plates, serving customer as a waiter and so on 😂.

P.S. I worked at here before during the second semester break.

I learned many things and gained lots of experiences throughout the part-time works. For example, I need to follow the SOP (‎Standard Operating Procedure), learned how to cook pearls, brew tea, prepare milk tea/ fruit tea, and also cook waffles. Actually I doesn’t really like doing the waffle as it cost lots of time (about 5 minutes++ for 1 waffle) and also need to prepare the waffle mix (mixture of flour mix and milk, eggs, and butter) by myself 😢. As there is a recipe for making the waffle mix, so one time preparation of a waffle mix only enough for making 7-9 waffles and normally it will be used in 1 day. When it comes to public holiday, it is really tired and my achievement was I made 25++ waffles in 1 day TvT.

In short, i think that working part-time is good and it brought lots of benefits to me. I can earn my pocket money for my third semester (also some for watching movies 😍 ) and can reduce my parents’ burden. I also being able to make new friends with people from different culture and races and learn to cooperate with them. Lastly, i think the most important thing is that my valuable holiday’s time didn’t get wasted. XD

Genting’s Trip

About Genting Highlands Malaysia

A very very short introduction:

Resorts World Genting is a premier leisure and entertainment resort located in Pahang, Malaysia. It is equipped with hotels, shopping malls, theme parks, entertaiment attractions and casinos. It also represents a popular weekend getaway from the city heat, connected by major highways, trunk roads and cable cars services.

Genting’s Trip (XMUM – Genting)

During the second sem-break of my first year Degree (24 January 2019), me and my friends went to Genting Highlands Malaysia after the final exams. I’ve been to this place before for at least 5 times. The last time i visited Genting is like 2012 or 2013 when i am at about 14 years old. This time we decided to have a 2 days trip to Genting which we will book the hotel and stay one night at there. It is very easy as you can book it through online booking system and then self check-in at the electronic kiosk machines located at the Genting Hotel’s lobby.

We started our journey from Xiamen University Malaysia at the first day of the semester break. All of us (3 people) met at the guard house at 9 o’clock and walked to the ERL station. When we arrived at the station, the train also arrived almost at the same time after we bought the ticket and so we can immediately get on the train and go to KL Sentral. At about 9:45 a.m., we reached at KL Sentral and went to buy the bus ticket to Awana Genting Station. The ticket we bought also included the Awana Skyway ticket which is the cable car ticket used to go up to Genting. So, the total price is RM 13.90 (RM9 for skyway and RM4.9 for bus). Then, you will reach the destination. I think this is the most budget way and it is simple. However, the price stated up there is only a one way ticket so for return it depends on you where you want to back.

Genting’s Trip (Genting)

Cable car go up to Genting.

First sight after coming down from cable car.

Skytropolis Funland at Resorts World Genting.

After some walk and checked-in to the hotel, we went to eat ramen as our lunch. Then, it is our play time! Because we went to Genting on Thursday, the place is not very crowd. As we didn’t plan anything before going to Genting, so we will just do whatever we want to do at the time such as playing bowling, shopping, and also play some arcade games.

Time flies when you’re having fun. Before having McDonald as our dinner, we went back to hotel to have some rest. Then after our dinner, we went to watch a newly released movie which was Escape Room, at Bona Cinema. The movie was so interesting and great! It is almost 10 to 11 p.m. after we watched the movie and then I felt a bit hungry. Of course then I went to the 7-11 there to buy cup noodle to eat. Because the Chinese New Year is coming soon, we also went to shopping because one of my friend want to buy new shirt. When we went back to our hotel room, all of us are tired as hell. However, the TV at the room were showing Tomb Raider show and so i watched it all then feel asleep. This end the first day of the trip at Genting.

We can’t visit the casino as our ages has not yet fulfil the requirement (21) 😢. Because the hotel we booked only have a queen-size bed, thus one people doesn’t have place to sleep and then he sacrificed himself to sleep on the chair and table but he then slept on the floor without noticed by us. 😢 And he also felt asleep in the washroom when he took bath. XD I just want to say: Thank you ! 😇

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit.
